BNF – DCC Dual Career Couples

Offers and opportunities for partners

The University of Bern supports spouses and partners of newly arrived scientists who need to re-establish their careers in Switzerland. Depending on the individual situation we offer personal counselling and specialized coaching for the Swiss job market. More information can be found on the website "Work-life balance" of the Office for Gender Equality and at the Welcome Centre of the University of Bern.

Personalized Consulting – Module 1

Our consultants successfully provide professional support for academics and are qualified in the field of consulting and coaching. In addition, they have different professional skills and varied experiences in public institutions, the academy, or the private sector. The quality of the BNF consulting team results from a mixture of deliberate heterogeneity and experienced collaboration. At BNF, our focus is the individual assessment of your current situation. Depending on their professional biography, experience, and expertise, we inform our clients about the job market and application practices in Switzerland in order to support them in developing and executing a personal action plan.

Professional Networking – Module 2

In a BNF project, we support our clients in building up a professional network. Connecting with an institution by working on a temporary project enables them to develop or expand their network and gain work experience in Switzerland. BNF has a widely ramified professional network and an extensive project database. Nevertheless, we often create new projects with our clients, suited to their individual needs.

Targeted Training – Courses

BNF offers a wide range of high-quality courses in German, French, and English, which are all specifically tailored to the needs of academics. They focus on the customary job application practices in Switzerland. From a wide range of short intensive course units an individually suited selection can be made.
